Mr. Allah Dad Khan gave a lecture distinguishing renewable and nonrenewable resources. Nonrenewable resources like uranium, coal, petroleum and natural gas cannot be replaced at the same rate they are being used. Uranium is used for nuclear energy and is nonrenewable. Coal, petroleum and natural gas were formed over millions of years from decaying organic matter and are considered nonrenewable. Renewable resources like solar, wind, water and biomass can be naturally replenished relatively quickly and include energy from the sun, earth, wind, flowing water and burning organic matter. The key difference between the two is that nonrenewable resources cannot be naturally replaced at the same rate they are being consumed while renewable
