It is useful to consider representation in relation to our teaser trailer
because different audiences may be more inclined to watch certain media
products based on representation. Our marketing campaign was focused
on appealing our teaser trailer to our young- adult target audience and so
it was important that the young actors that star in our teaser where
represented in a way that would appeal to the same age. We had a variety
of characters of the same age represented in different ways which we
thought the audience would be able to relate to.

       OUR TEASER TRAILER

1. What is represented?

The mise-en-scene of the hooded teenagers pushing and throwing
cans represents that one of the characters is a victim and the rest
appear to be bullies.
DYER’S TYPOGRAPHY

2. How is this representative of social groups?

The hooded teenagers representing the bullies wear a very stereotypical
type of clothing this type of character. This mise-en-scene represents
what is negatively associated with teenagers and hoodies- youth crime.
The young girl looks as if she were a friend to Kyri as shown by her
running up to him rather than being intimidating towards him which is a
stereotypical role of a female character in this type of genre.

3. Who is responsible for the representation?
The production company for this film would most likely be a big
Hollywood film company because it is a niche genre however is targeted
at a large young market audience with many young well known actors and
conventional situations associated with young people which may attract
the audience as aspects of the story are easy to relate to. The
psychological aspect of the film may also appeal towards a slightly older
audience because of the artistic elements.

4. What does the audience make of it?

There is a wide variety of characters of the same age in our film and
are shown in the teaser trailer which may appeal to a large amount of
young people because there is a high chance of being a character that
the audience can relate to.
CONCLUSION

The most likely audience that would watch our film would be
teenagers-young adults because of the young actors and situations
often seen at that age, such as bullying, which the audience may be
able to relate to, as well as the other events that may happen during
college. Some of the teenagers are represented in a negative way as
bullies however there is a variety of characters each with their own
problems.
