Tim Chown proposes creating a community of Research Network Infrastructure Engineers to share best practices for optimizing network infrastructure to support large-volume research data storage, access, and transfer. The goals of the community would be to establish and share best practices, learn from each other's experiences, and help Jisc understand support needs. Existing resources like the Science DMZ model, WLCG/GridPP expertise, and Jisc performance testing capabilities could provide a good starting point for discussion. Tim invites comments on the scope and structure of the potential community.
