- 1. A2 Pre-production Tasks Feedback Student Name: RICHARDS Anthony Task 1 – Pre-production: Research & Planning Evidence on blog 1. Similar Products – music video analysis Analysis of song (Verve/Portishead) using Goodwin - key features identified with good analysis. Good detail on visual links to audience expectations of artist. Good use of terminology (technical elements) with good attempt to use technical terminology – camera shot types, mise-en-scene. Very good attempt to link visuals with meaning. Good use of screenshots added as evidence. Clear and concise. Yes 2. Genre Analysis (including genre & digipak research) Brief guide to genre with some key influences and themes. Key themes and conventions identified. No links to audio/visual examples of different artists and styles. Little if no understanding shown of how genre has developed. More detail needed on early history of genre, and influence of key artists from that history – though some influential early artists identified. Post amended to include links to artists and history of genre, key artists and early origins identified. Digipak/advert annotation shows some awareness of conventions with some analysis. Good link to image/font to establish ‘brand’ of artist and relation to genre. Tour advert used not an advert for an album. Good practice video: Fresh Prince – some awareness of conventions (transitions), some attempt to lip synch. Bon Jovi – some nice shots and edits but little resemblance to rock video. Very good print practice with cover and advert – shows good technical ability. Good breakdown of how work produced. Needs more digipak/advert analysis 3. Target Audience No detail on audience for genre in general, no evidence of research. Detail on stereotypical TA for own product – with interests and likes added. Post now included stereotypical audience description with some attempt to link music to culture. Yes
- 2. 4. Annotated lyrics Some detail on initial ideas and thoughts for music video, with locations included. Yes 6. Storyboards Drawings are simple but show little relation to camera shot type – some heads just float with no idea of background or body! All drawings seem to be the same stick figure. Technical detail added but very difficult to read. Needs to be re-posted in shot order. Storyboard redone. Drawings are simple but effective. Good technical detail included. Yes 7. Shotlist List completed with detail on shot type and activity. But needs formatting, as it is difficult to follow. A ‘script’ also included which gives more detail of shots and activity but again difficult to follow. Post has been redrafted, list is now easy to follow with good detail included. Yes 8. Layouts – floor plan Confusing plans with no detail on where we are in relation to song or location. But plans do include camera position detail. Yes 9.
