Robocortex is a French company that provides augmented reality solutions for industrial maintenance using mobile devices and glasses. They are seeking an intern to design and develop software components for an augmented reality application that will demonstrate their AugmentedPro technology. AugmentedPro solutions by Robocortex include hardware and software packages to operate in a mobile context, visualize your industrial environment, display your business data in real time on the same screen (text, images, videos, 3D models, animations) and interact with your assets through Robocortex augmented reality technology. Summary: Mobile augmented reality technology consists in adding virtual contents to live images acquired by a camera on a mobile device (tablet, smartphone, glasses). Our AugmentedPro software allows us to localize precisely objects in the environment and replace them with virtual contents. The resulting live images on the screen allow the user to interact with the real world. See an example in the figure below: The goal of this internship is to design and develop software components used in an application for augmented reality use cases. The typical scenario for this application is as follows: · The user points at an industrial equipment with a mobile device · The industrial equipment is identified and tacked automatically · Relevant information is displayed on screen, with potential use of augmented reality technology · Instructions are provided to the user to complete industrial tasks on the equipment · The user collects data to be recorded in a database · A report is generated automatically at the end of the operations Within our R&D team the trainee will participate in: · Acquiring functional knowledge on mobile platforms · Acquiring functional knowledge on our AugmentedPro software · Analyzing how functionalities should be demonstrated · Designing and developing one or several of the following software components: o 3D model handling and display o Network communication o Authoring and configuration tools o Interaction interfaces: touch, voice, gesture o Graphical user interfaces · Integrating existing AugmentedPro localization components · Implementing non regression tests · Writing the documentation www.robocortex.com page 2 / 2 Required skills: · Programming Skills: C, C++, web technologies · Good analysis and synthesis skills, information gathering · Open minded, motivation to learn, team spirit · Good documentation and communication skills Duration: · 6 to 9 months Location: · Sophia-Antipolis (Nice area) Education level: · Master degree or last year of engineering degree Contact · Please send your CV and a motivation letter to jobs@robocortex.com
