Rough edit questionnaire
Do you understand the
narrative of the movie?
 Our audience was made up of 10 people
 We asked them as a first question if they
understood the narrative of the question in order to
get the idea of how did they watch our movie.
 All of them said that they understood what was
going on on the screen and that they recognized that
it is about a murder mystery movie which was good
because it means that we managed to express our
ideas for this movie properly.
Did you feel the tension?
 Another question on our questionnaire was about the
tension that we wanted to express through our movie. Since
it’s a murder mystery movie, there has to be tension.
 Half of our audience answer positively about the tension in
our movie, the other half having different opinions about it.
Two of them said that they didn’t feel any tension in our
movie without giving us any ideas of how to make it better
but the other three, gave us some ideas of how to bring the
tension in our movie and improve it.
 The overall conclusion from their ideas was to add music
because this would bring the tension as well. They specified
that we should add a song that would give the idea of
suspense.
Should we add some music?
(Rhythm – fast or slow)
 All of our audience was of the opinion that we should
add some music and more than half of them specified
that it should have a fast rhythm especially when there’s
the crime scene going on. This should add up more
suspense to our movie and make it look more as a
murder mystery movie.
 We concluded that for the crime scene we should have
a heavy breathing as a background sound and use the
fast rhythm t the beginning of the movie in order to make
it more interesting so our audience would be intrigued by
this and have the willing of watching more of it
Do you think we chose the actors accordingly to
the character they are portraying?
 When we started to plan on how to do the movie, we
thought about the criteria that every actor has to meet in
order to fit in the character they had to be physically
speaking.
 We asked our audience if we did that right because we
really wanted every character to be portrayed by the right
person.
 Our audience answered positively at this question saying
that we chose the actors very well and according to every
character. This means that the struggle of finding the right
people wasn’t for nothing and as directors, we made the
right choice.
Do you think that we used our shot transition
well? If not, what should we change?
 At this question we got 7 positive answers saying that
we used the transitions well and the other 3 answers
involved new ways of improvements.
 The audience said that we should work more on the
flashback as it’s expressing a trailer feeling rather than a
memory and also that the fades in the crime scene are
too jumpy.
 As a conclusion, we are going to edit the movie again
and follow the audience’s point of view
Do you hear the dialogue loud
enough?
 10 out of 10 were positive answers
which means that the dialogue is heard
properly and we don’t have to worry
about that anymore.
Does what you hear, match with what you
see? (the dialogue between the characters)
 We asked this question to see if the dialogue is
synchronized and by this, I mean that the sound
should match with the image when the characters are
speaking.
 The answers were positive which is good because it
means that the characters understood the dialogue
and who is speaking in the scene/shot.
Is the lighting used properly?
 At this question the answers were different. Again
we got some ideas of improvements from the
audience. 7 people answered saying that yes, we
used the lighting properly and the other 3 gave us
some new ideas of how to make it better.
 The overall conclusion of the ideas was that we
should make the flashback lighter and also, be
careful with the contrast because it’s too much.
Do you think that the mise-en-
scene is used well?
 The answers to this questions were all
positive which means that we made the
right choices when it comes to
costumes, make-up and how we set
the scenes.
How do you think we can
improve for our final piece?
 In the final question from our questionnaire we
asked for specific improvements that we could use
in order to make the movie better and the answers
were divided in half.
 Half of our audience – 5 people, said that we should
definitely add some music and the other half said
that we should work on the cuts because they are
changing too fast.
