Conclusion & Social Relevance
Conclusion:
The study on heath awareness and lifestyle
among individuals aged between 25-50 years in
the Garhwal region reveals significant insights
into the health behaviours, knowledge and
challenges faced by the population.
Overall, the findings suggest that while a
majority of the population is becoming
increasingly aware of health – related issues,
factors such as limited access to healthcare,
socioeconomic disparities, and traditional
lifestyle habits continue to influence health
outcomes. The study indicates that:
1.Health Awareness: There is a moderate level
of awareness regarding common health issues,
nutrition, and fitness among people in this age
group. However, knowledge gaps persist,
particularly in preventive healthcare practices
and emerging health risks like mental health
issues, substance abuse, and non –
communicable disease (NCDs).
2. Lifestyle Factors: Many individuals continue
to follow traditional lifestyles that include
physical labour, limited physical exercise, and
diet habits that may not always align with
modern health recommendations. In rural
areas, sedentary lifestyles are becoming more
common due to changing work patterns, while
urban residents have better access to fitness
facilities but may face stress – related health
issues.
3. Barriers to Health Improvement: Access to
quality healthcare services remains a critical
issue, especially in remote areas of the Garhwal
region. Economic constraints, lack of health
education, and inadequate healthcare
infrastructure prevent many people from
adopting healthier lifestyles and seeking timely
medical advice.
SOCIAL RELEVANCE:
1.Public health initiatives: The findings
underscore the need for targeted public health
programs in the region. Awareness campaigns
on preventive health care, healthy diets, mental
health, and regular physical activity can help
bridge the knowledge gaps. Localized
approaches, taking into account cultural
practices and regional specificities, will be
crucial for these campaigns’ success.
2.Policy implications: Policymakers need to
focus on improving healthcare infrastructure in
rural and remote areas of Garhwal. Investments
in primary healthcare centres, training
healthcare workers, and expanding digital
health services could enhance health outcomes
in the region.
3.Sustainable development: As the Garhwal
region undergoes socioeconomic changes,
promoting a balanced lifestyle that blends
modern health practices with traditional
knowledge is vital. This would ensure a
sustainable approach to health and long
concerns in the region.
“In conclusion, improving health awareness and
lifestyle choices among 25-50 age group in
Garhwal is essential not only for the well-being of
individuals but also for the region’s overall health
trajectory. By focusing on education, healthcare
and lifestyle changes can be made.”
