Editor's Notes

  • #3: In September the U.S. imported 357 million barrels of oil at a cost of 25 billion dollars to foreign nations. We imported 63 percent of the oil we used in September which is up three percentage points from August.
  • #4: Energy goes hand in hand with our national security.
  • #7: By using CNG on our heavy vehicles we can reduce our imported petroleum use by 5-9 percent immediately.
