Apprenticeship is formal occupational training that combines paid employment, on-the-job training and job related college level instruction. American River College apprenticeship instructors are college faculty; apprenticeship coursework earns college credit that can lead to an A.S. Degree. Infrastructure pre-apprenticeship promotes student success while building and meeting the state’s workforce needs.
Often apprenticeship programs lose up to 50% of their apprentices in the first year. This is due to students not being adequately prepared for the workforce However, students completing pre-apprenticeship show increased retention and success in formal apprenticeship training American River College is the Local Education Agency for the following apprenticeship training programs: ● Carpenters ● Drywall/Lathers ● Sheet Metal Workers ● Iron Workers ● Electricians ● Work Experience for OE3
