- 3. Perfect temperature for plants Foliage plants (plants with leaves instead of petals) grow best with the temperature indoors at daytime between 70ºF and 80ºF and at night between 60ºF and 68ºF. Flowering plants (plants with petals instead of leaves) grow best with the temperature indoors at the same temperature as foliage plants but at night between 55ºF and 60ºF.
- 4. Plants need light When growing plants indoors plants should be placed next to a window or under a 10 to 15 watt fluorescent light bulb. Plants need the light to go through photosynthesis to produce nutrients for the plant and to give off oxygen.

- 6. Plants need air Air is essential to plant life without air there would be no wind to pollinate the plants and without air there would be no warmth or no rain for plants.
- 7. Plants need nutrients Plants need nutrients to grow green and healthy.
- 8. Plants need time For plants to grow they need time, certain plants sprout at certain times.
- 9. Plants need space If plants are crowded the roots will get tangled and that will result in less growth of plants.
