This research investigates the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of oncology health professionals in Australia regarding complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), revealing that many feel unprepared to discuss CAM with patients due to a lack of expertise. While a significant number of respondents acknowledged the potential supportive role of CAM in oncology, safety concerns and the lack of scientific evidence were major barriers to discussing CAM with patients. The findings suggest a critical need for CAM education among oncology professionals to improve patient safety and communication.
