The English block of Ringwood School. Character 1 walks down the hall
towards the media room. She/he turns and walks through the door.

Character 1 stops as the door closes behind him/her. Character 2 is sat on
a swivel chair and spins around to face character 1 silently.

(Looks confused) Okay…
Character 2
We have something very important to discuss
Character 1
And this would be regarding what exactly?
Character 2 looks around suspiciously, checks the room is empty and leans
forward

I need some help with my jokes
Character 1

Character 2
Like I said, I need help with my jokes… I’m just not funny enough, and Jess
only likes funny guys.
Character 1
Oh no I wouldn’t say that, your plenty funny… come on tell me a joke
Character 2

How do you feel when there is no coffee?
Character 1
I don’t know. How do you feel when there is no coffee?

Depresso (laughs at own joke)

Yeah… um maybe you’re just trying a little too hard. Have you ever tried
just talking to her?
Character 2
Well yeah but we only ever talk about school work, I need her to be a
little more interested… how about this. What do you call a bear without any
teeth?
Character 1
(rolls eyes) I don’t know, what do you call a bear with no teeth?
Character 2
A gummy bear!!
Character 1
I really think you should revisit the whole talking to her thing… ask her
about herself
Character 2
Yeah, yeah I think I could do that… sooooo how are you doing? What do you
plan on doing after collage? Tell me about your hopes and dreams! Where do
you see yourself in 5 years?
Character 1
Well you’re coming across a bit strong but I like the ambition!
Jess walks in.
Character 2
Oh hi Jess…
The three of them all exchange awkward looks
Character 2
So how do you feel when you’ve had no coffee… depresso (laughs
hysterically)
