Script for animatic storyboards

  • 1. Script for Animatic Storyboards<br />The title sequence starts off with the transition clip of my institution. This introduces the company who is behind the production of the film.
  • 2. Next is a birds eye view shot of several newspapers. On each of the newspapers is a story of kidnap with several teenage girls faces on.
  • 3. As this image fades out a date appears which dates back to 2008. An image of a missing poster is underneath the date with a closer picture of one of the girls who has been kidnapped and killed.
  • 4. This process repeats up until present day, through this the audiences are made aware of the background to the film. For example, they are informed of the theme of the film and the previous incidents related to it. This also gives a chance for the actors names to be displayed on the screen too.
  • 5. A point of view shot from the killer is then used with the victim in deep focus. This shot follows her as she walks through a woodland area. The woodland area acts as a canopy around the victim, secluding her from any source of help and isolating her with the killer.
  • 6. Another point of view shot is then used from the killer, which follows another victim as she walks across a desolate wasteland. The idea of flipping between the two killings suggests that the killer strikes more than once and that no one is safe in any environment.
  • 7. A zoom resulting in a close up is used to show a text from the first victim to her mother. The text reads “Be Home Soon X” which adds some emotional value to the title sequence.
  • 8. This is then repeated but with the second victim who sends a text to her father ready exactly the same for exactly the same effect.
  • 9. A tracking shot is then used to track the killer following the first victim through the woods. The tracking shot is a way of showing the killer closing in on the victim as he gets closer and closer to her.
  • 10. Again this is repeated with the second victim to reinforce how dangerous the killer is.
  • 11. A blackout is then used and when the film footage returns we have a close up of the killer’s face, which is hidden with a hood, which then zooms into an extreme close up of his eye.
  • 12. A graphic match is used and when the camera zooms back out the eye is now of the victim. Again this is repeated with the second victim.
  • 13. This is then a point of view shot with the killer with a cutaway from the dead body to the knife in his hand.
  • 14. As this shot fades out the title ‘MISSING’ is written across the screen in blood, finally ending on the directed by transition.
