Script for opening
- 1. Script for ‘encounter’ by Kieran goodall. Fades in: Main character (Dan) is walking along the high street on the way home from his job. Dan: Dan is walking along the high street and just before he reaches the alleyway the gang hears him. Rory: *to the rest of the gang* *whispers* ‘guys. Shut up!’ Dan: *walks over and stops just before the alleyway as if he’s spotted something and stares in to alleyway for a few moments. Not spotting anything he walks away. Rory: *to the gang* ‘come on guys he saw us gear up’. The rest of the gang follow his lead and put on their masks and arm themselves. Craig: ‘we’re ready guv’ *gang moves out from the alleyway and pursues Dan* Dan: spotting his followers he veers off into a nearby alley to try and lose them when he comes to a dead end and then turns around to face his attackers. ‘Come on guys you really don’t want to do this’. Rory: ‘but we do want to do this, we can’t have snobs like you walking around here, we have to send a message’ Dan: ‘last chance guys you really don’t…’ *interrupted by the gang leader punching him in the face* Freeze frame. Dan’s narrative voice over: ‘see, this is where these guys went wrong. The guy on the left, he will attack while the main guy draws back. As soon as the guy on the left moves in so will the other two guys shortly after as they attempt to finish me. They couldn’t be more wrong.’ The freeze frame ends. Dan: *turns his back to the attackers recovering from the punch* Ben: *moves in for the kill followed by Ross and Craig* The fight scene starts. Dan: *blocks all the attacks and counters them slowly defeating them one by on as the come back for more until they are all laying on the floor in a crippled mess all except the lead guy.* Rory: *pulls out a gun* ‘it’s one thing to dodge a punch but can you dodge a bullet?’
- 2. Fades out Screen goes blank. A lone gunshot echoes while the screen is blank. Fades in again. Dan: *standing over the gang member with the gun in his hand pointing it at the place where he had already shot him* ‘You should have listened.’ *drops the gun and walks off into the distance*. Dan’s narrative: ‘this was just a Thursday, (pause) I’ve only just begun.’ End.
