 Definition: SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
is the practice of optimizing a website to
improve its visibility and ranking on search
engine results pages (SERPs).
 Goal: Increase organic (non-paid) traffic to a
website.
 Importance: Higher visibility on search
engines can lead to more website visitors,
potential customers, and increased revenue.
 Crawling: Search engines use bots to crawl
the web, discovering and indexing new and
updated content.
 Indexing: The crawled data is stored and
organized in a massive database called an
index.
 Ranking: When users search, the search
engine retrieves relevant results from the
index, ranking them based on numerous
factors to provide the best answers.
On-Page SEO:
 Keyword Research
 Content Optimization
 Meta Tags (title, description)
 URL Structure
Off-Page SEO:
 Backlinks
 Social Signals
 Brand Mentions
 Technical SEO:Site Speed
 Mobile-Friendliness
 Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
 XML Sitemaps
 Key Metrics:
 Organic Traffic: Number of visitors from
search engines.
 Keyword Rankings: Position of target
keywords in SERPs.
 Conversion Rate: Percentage of visitors who
complete desired actions (e.g., purchases,
sign-ups).
 Bounce Rate: Percentage of visitors who leave
after viewing only one page.

 SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz
