Segmented worms have segmented, ring-like bodies and setae that help them move. They live in soil, freshwater, and saltwater. Earthworms eat soil and have a crop, gizzard and intestine for digestion. Leeches feed on animal blood with suckers and secrete chemicals for feeding and surgery. Over 600 marine worm species live in various ways like floating, burrowing or walking on ocean floors. Worms and mollusks evolved from a common ancestor as shown by their similar larval stage.
