- 3. Self evaluation • I think the whole web page runs smoothly and that the page looks nice. I am happy with the end product and I think that it has met all the criteria. I think I could have spent a bit more time on it to get some thing that looks very good and impressive. I would have really like to add a widget but every time I tried it added about 300 lines of html and I ruined the whole page. All of my links to other pages match the obvious house style and are aligned up well. I think if there was a bit more news on the page the slider would run more smoothly because the more text that is in the box the less the bar moves each time and the smoother the effect on the viewers eyes. If it was updated frequently it could be a successful multimedia page. The slide show was probably the hardest thing to do because I couldn’t change the alpha on some of the pictures and it wouldn’t slide properly for ages, but I now think that I have made the slideshow quite well, I had to try a lot of times to get the pictures to be able to fade because the alpha effect wasn’t coming up on a few of them but now I think that the way they slide into each other looks very good. I had to put them on different layers to get them to work. If I could change it now, I would make the pictures stay on for more frames so that I could play it at a higher FPS and it wouldn’t jolt. The pictures fit with the page because they are all of snowboarders. I don’t think it is as good as it could have been because I rushed to finish and I could have just done it better to start with.
- 4. • I think the animation looks terrible on the page with the video because it doesn’t fit well on the page and looks like it has been thrown on at the end with the video. I would either make a new link to the animation page or get rid of it completely. The only reason that I put it on was to get the higher grade criteria but I think that it makes that part of the page look rushed and messy. I really like the music on the page because it fits very well with my theme because it is the redbull’s official song and my page is about an extreme sport and my page does talk about redbull. The song is a good song that people will enjoy to listen to while looking at pictures and if they don’t they can always turn their sound off. They link the supernatural is very well positioned and I think that that page looks nice as well, so if people didn’t get enough information from mine they can get all the details from another page that has all the confirmed details on the events. One of my friends doing this topic has a moving background and that looks amazing and I would have really liked to do something like that but I don’t know if that would fit because his is the minecraft background and mine would be a slideshow. Unless I could make the slide show perfect I don’t think it would be worth putting ion there because it would be jolty and make the page not look profesional.
- 5. Peer evaluation- Ollie King • The whole website/multimedia product runs very smoothly. The navigation bar is very neat and lined up well and it looks very professional. He’s added lots of features like pictures, animation & videos which makes the product stand out a lot. Another thing that makes the product stand out a lot is the originality of the subject/focus (Snowboarding). I really like this website because it’s original, unique and really well functioned. The scroll bar in the middle of the web page is really handy as well by giving useful information to people who like or want to know more about snowboarding. The slideshow runs very smoothly as well and the pictures are quite cool too. His link to the official ‘Supernatural’ page on Red Bulls home page is quite cool too. The only improvements I would make is possibly by adding a You Tube video to the product to give a simple idea into the basics of the snowboarding world. Apart from that this is a very good multimedia product. WELL DONE SAM
- 6. Peer evaluation – Jack Grogan • I think Sam’s product really shows the amount of work he has put into it. It looks professional, the background looks smooth and that it should be there and isn’t thrown in. • Also the buttons are very professional and well placed. Look again that they match the house theme. They are also very smooth and brilliant in how they look when they are pressed and hovered over. Brilliant in my opinion. However there is a negative. There is no real homepage, the website is just there as soon as it loads. It feels like you are “thrown into the deep end”, but other than that it is a masterful product.
- 7. Peer evaluation – Beth • I really like this product. It is very professional and has a good consistent house stile. • It is very informative and I like the scroll to look through the text. Also The slideshow of pictures has great transformation from one to the other because they fade into each other. It runs very smoothly and everything works well the only thing you could add is a button sound when you click on one of the buttons. Also there isn't really a homepage so I think you should have a homepage and button so your not on the news straight away.
