This document presents a sensorless speed control method for brushless DC motors using MATLAB/Simulink. It proposes detecting the zero crossings of the reverse electromotive force (EMF) indirectly from the motor terminal voltages to determine commutation points for sensorless operation. The method involves passing the terminal voltages through low-pass filters to obtain sinusoidal reverse EMF signals, and using hysteresis comparators to generate PWM signals for the inverter while compensating for phase lag. Simulation results show the BLDC current attaining its peak of 2.5A within 0.005 seconds, while the back EMF amplitude is 100V over a 0.02 second cycle. The method provides a simple and reliable approach for
