SEO is the process of improving a website's ranking on search
results page, in order to get more visits from search engine’s
users.

1 • Define your target audience and their needs

 Define your Target Audience and Their Needs
• Determine: age, sex, geographic locations, and their needs
• Check out: usability.gov’s description of personas and how
to do task analysis & scenarios for more details
•Try to answer questions: What is it that you want your
audience to do on your website? What is the best way to get
there based on your audience's information?
 Categorized Keyword Research
• Create an excel sheet with your keyword lists categorized,
according to your audience and website.
• Use the Google Keyword Planner to research keywords and
search volume
• Plug them into your excel sheet accordingly.

 On page SEO & Site Structure
• Make clear to search engine what your website is about
• Search engines can crawl your website and find all of your
valuable content
• The site must have: good internal linking with no broken
links, good navigation, unique content, and appropriate page
load-times

• Activities out of the website: social media, bookmarking,
link building
• Making connections in your industry and with your target
audience is a way to improve your brand's image
• Other methods: creating interesting content, requesting
links from affiliated associations/organizations, and outreach

 Monitor – Track - Result
• Setup a Google Analytics account to monitor organic traffic
on a daily, weekly, monthly basis
• Create a spreadsheet to track the on-page changes, if they
led to certain results
• Utilize a rank tracking service/software to monitor search
positions over time
