Ice Breaker: PLATO, KUTSARA, TINIDOR
Mechanics: The participants will form into big group
while sitting, and one person will serve as “Taya”.
When the “Taya” while blind folded, he points to
you and said KUTSARA, it means you will say the
name of the person sitting on your right, TINIDOR
means the name of the person sitting on your left
while PLATO means everyone should exchange
seats across the big circle. As the Taya points to
anyone asking KUTSARA or TINIDOR and he cannot
answer after 3 counts, he will replace as TAYA or the
one who is left after not finding his seat
1. COMMITMENT
• COMMITMENT is a decision, is a choice of the
heart, made once and for all, renewed from time
to time, to do something until its completion,
cost what it may (whatever it takes).
• COMMITMENT is needed in studies and work.
• COMMITMENT is needed in stable marriages and
family life.
• COMMITMENT is necessary for our life in society.
• COMMITMENT is necessary for our life with God.

your specific industry and
workplace are important steps
for career advancement.
Dedication and initiative in the
workplace will cause stronger
relationships at work and may
result in better overall
performance. Showing your

work gains the trust and
respect of management and

leadership positions and
career advancement
opportunities.

me.

3. ACCOUNTABILITY is my personal
answerability - being personally
answerable for my actions, behavior,
growth and fruitfulness in my life.

• ANSWERABLE to other people,
especially my spouse and children;

Possible benefits of individual workplace Accountability

A workplace that
values accountability
may also foster greater
commitment and
increased employee

because feeling

qualities or traits, but respect can also be the action of
treating people with appreciation and dignity. A respectful
attitude should be standard in the workplace regardless of

Both employers and employees need to give respect to each other and

managers by giving them the attention they need, listening to their
opinions and leading with kindness.

things and relate with people.
• POSITIVE ATTITUDE = habitually
seeing good in things and people,
and relating with things and people
accordingly.
• NEGATIVE ATTITUDE = habitually
seeing and relating negatively.
• We cultivate a positive attitude,
and avoid a negative attitude.
• We develop a positive personality
or a negative personality by the
attitude we have.
• SOW A THOUGHT (ATTITUDE), REAP A WORD.
• SOW A WORD, REAP AN ACTION.

doing what is good, true and right.
• Be mindful of your
perspective.
• Make a list of your strengths.
• Make a list of best- and
worst-case outcomes.
• Step outside your comfort
zone.
7. TRUSTWORTHINESS

words and actions.

and you lose something.
When you lose your credibility,
and you lose everything.
(Lito Barino: DUROS)

Editor's Notes

  • #15: Organizations that fail to include honesty among their company values set themselves up for a variety of potential problems. On the flip side, honest environments set the stage for some great things to happen.
  • #18: Accountability is the acceptance of responsibility for honest and ethical conduct towards others.
  • #19: A workplace that values accountability may also foster greater commitment and increased employee happiness. This is because feeling responsible for one's actions and work can create a greater feeling of control and autonomy. Individuals who feel that they control their own impact may be more likely to make that impact a positive one.
  • #21: Examples of respect in the workplace include giving coworkers at every level your attention, listening to their opinions and conversing with kindness.
  • #22: Importance of respect in the workplace Respect reduces stress Respect increases productivity and collaboration Respect improves employee satisfaction Respect creates a fair environment
  • #26: Be mindful of your perspective. Instead of saying “I can’t do this,” say “I can’t do this yet, but I can learn.” Think of challenges as learning opportunities. Make a list of your strengths. Knowing what you’re good at — whether it’s problem-solving, computer coding, mentoring, or closing tough deals — can boost your confidence. If you’re interested in learning more about your strengths and talents, consider taking an online personality inventory, such as the CliftonStrengths assessment. This one-hour, 177-question “test” assesses participants’ natural patterns of thinking and then provides them with personalized insights about their strengths and weaknesses in areas such as strategic thinking, relationship building, and influencing, among others. Maryville students are given the opportunity to participate in the CliftonStrengths assessment free of charge. Make a list of best- and worst-case outcomes. Focusing on positive outcomes can help make them a reality and give you the courage to move forward; conversely, facing your worst fears head-on can take away their power. Step outside your comfort zone. Workplace courage is a muscle that needs to be exercised. The more you use your courage muscles, the stronger they’ll become. If you’re nervous about traveling alone to an upcoming conference, consider going out to dinner by yourself to get used to dining alone. If you’re unsure about speaking up about corporate policies, practice voicing your concerns to a friend.
  • #29: How do you show trustworthiness at work and how to make your boss trust you? Be punctual. Always show up on time and don’t miss deadlines. Don’t make your team guess where Waldo is instead of discussing important issues at a meeting. They’ll perceive you as unreliable. It’s also disrespectful to others. Be consistent. Don’t give 110% one day and 23,54% the next day. No one will know what to expect from you and if they can trust you with the next project. Consistency also applies to your words and your actions being aligned: if you give someone your word, keep it. Give praise and credit where it’s due. It will make your coworkers feel valued, especially if they can tell it’s genuine, and it will show that you’re a team player. Give good constructive criticism. When someone asks you to give your opinion, try to give a thoughtful and honest answer. Of course, don’t be too harsh (social intelligence is absolutely needed in instances like this): be kind, but also point out things that should be improved. The difference between wanting to help someone and being rude is the intention you are speaking with, but lines can get blurred in delivery, so be aware of that. Don’t hide information. I don’t think this one needs further explanation – would you trust someone knowing they hid something from you? Avoid gossip. If someone talks badly about others to you, they’ll talk badly about you to others.
