Godly goals have eternity

“I run straight to the goal
with purpose in every step”
     1 Corinthians 9:26
God’s purpose for your life isn’t just
                 for here
Setting Godly Goals
“God, I just want to do
 what you put me on
    earth to do.”
“God, I just want to do
 what you put me on
    earth to do.”

               God is looking for
              people he can use to
               fulfill his purposes
“Do not use any
 part of yourselves
  to sin or be used
      for wicked
 purposes. Instead,
 give yourselves to
      God ... And
   surrender your
whole being to him
    to be used for
righteous purpose.”
     Romans 6:13

“Let love be your highest goal.”
       1 Corinthians 14:1

                        Godly goals must be motivated

“Everything you do must be done with love” 1 Corinthians 16:14

                           GLORY
“Everything you do must be done with love” 1 Corinthians 16:14
If you set goals without love, then people become tools
in your life and you stop seeing them as human beings
Is your
   goal
motivated
 by love?
#4 Godly goals are God
      powered
“I’ve tried everything and nothing helps. I’m at the end
of my rope. Is there no one who can do anything for
me? Isn’t that the real question?” Romans 7:24
“I’ve tried everything and nothing helps. I’m at the end

  • #15: We fail because of 2 things: <c> <c>. You know what the bible says about this? \n
  • #16: In order to make significant changes in your life - to reach the goals that lead to significant & permanent changes - you need to depend on God’s powers and let others partner with you. In proverbs we are told <c>\n
  • #17: Whats this saying? 1st Trust the Lord w/ all your heart then God becomes your spiritual partner to guide you towards your goal.\n
  • #18: Write them down now. \n
  • #19: So our topic today is setting Godly goals. For us to set Godly goals we have to know what it is. There are 4 tests to that.\n

  • #23: Goals are set through faith. Bible says <c> so in order to please God, we must <c>. What does this mean? It means we have to set Goals that we cannot reach on your own. Example: Are there people who diet to lose a pound? Set Goals based on what tells you to do & requires you to remain dependent on Jesus. \n

  • #25: You haven’t believed in God until you’ve attempted to do something that can’t be done unless his power is at work in your life. <c>\n
  • #26: \n
  • #27: They are forever & ever. If you think the life you see is all there is, then your goals will be based as if this life is all there is. I believe in this life all God wants for us to do is build our character and test our faith in preparation for bigger things that we will enjoy forever. \n
  • #28: When you pray, do you pray to get God to help you in your own purpose or do you pray to align with Gods purpose? If you say <c>, I guarantee you, God will bless everything you touch because <c>. Romans 6:13 says... <c>\n
  • #29: When you pray, do you pray to get God to help you in your own purpose or do you pray to align with Gods purpose? If you say <c>, I guarantee you, God will bless everything you touch because <c>. Romans 6:13 says... <c>\n
  • #30: How do you live your life? You know with God, surrendering means getting everything and holding on to your life will mean losing it. \nGodly goals have eternity in mind, Paul gives an example when he said <c>\n
  • #31: Paul was a purpose driven runner. He refused anything that distracted him. The bible usually compares life to a race, a race where we win by helping people win. So time to check your resolution... <c>\n
  • #32: \n
  • #33: 1 Cor 14:1 says <g>, God is more interested in the Why rather than the What you do. Godly goals, the kind God will bless are goals motivated by love. <c> \nPeople are motivated by different things: Pressure, Greed, Guilt, Materialism, Revenge, Pride, Envy or Jealousy but God will only bless love motivated goals. \n
  • #34: 1 Cor 14:1 says <g>, God is more interested in the Why rather than the What you do. Godly goals, the kind God will bless are goals motivated by love. <c> \nPeople are motivated by different things: Pressure, Greed, Guilt, Materialism, Revenge, Pride, Envy or Jealousy but God will only bless love motivated goals. \n
  • #35: The bible says that everything you do must be done with love, so every goal you set should be for <c> God’s glory and every goal you set motivated with love. When your goal moves you to love God more and love other people more, then God will get behind that goal.\n
  • #36: This year I am asking God to make me more loving... One of my goals is to get to know you guys personally, deeper... So I hope to be invited more often. \n
  • #37: Are your resolutions love motivated? \n
  • #38: \n
  • #39: Have you figured out why a lot of times you are your worst enemy? Its your own reactions, fears, inadequacies that cause you to act in foolish ways. <c> because there are things I don’t like about me but I can’t change them, at least not in my own power. \n
  • #40: You might be saying <c> but I hate to say this <c>. Every year we make resolutions we never get to keep. Why? Because you can’t change on your own, you need God’s power! You need a savior, someone who can make the changes you can’t make yourself. \n
  • #41: You might be saying <c> but I hate to say this <c>. Every year we make resolutions we never get to keep. Why? Because you can’t change on your own, you need God’s power! You need a savior, someone who can make the changes you can’t make yourself. \n
  • #42: Lets make an important point here <c>. He doesn’t waste effort on things that are unnecessary. If you don’t need a savior, he would not have sent one. The very fact God sent a savior means thats what we need. Sometimes you will feel like your life is out of control - welcome to being human.\n
  • #43: You may be looking for happiness in wrong places thats why you’re tired & frustrated. Some of us think & dream <c>”if only”... Things would be great. Well.. Your looking in the wrong place. The answer is not a place <g>\n
  • #44: You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense. So finally, <c>.\n
