Why in the classroom?
     Some points for discussion….do you agree with the following?
1. Language is a medium of learning. It is best learnt within the context
   of other school subjects.

2. Students learn most effectively from their peers.

3. Focussed small group talk develops language competence and
   confidence.

4. Learners acquire a second language not by learning it but by using
   it to learn other things.

5. A second language is best learnt in natural situations rather than
   withdrawral groups.

6. There is a bonus for all students in providing increased awareness
   of linguistic and cultural diversity.
