- 3. What is Simplicity? The dictionary defines simplicity as “The quality or condition of being easy to understand or do.” Or “The quality or condition of being plain or natural.”
- 4. Simple, Not Bland From the definition before, we should see that simplicity should not come at the cost of being bland. You can still be creative in your presentation while keeping it easy to make and understand. Ways to be simple but creative can include: ● Color Scheme for backgrounds ● Set font with different additions to emphasize certain things (eg, italics for quotes or bold for important points) ● Less animations and quirky transitions, focus on smoother movements between slides. ● Use images, but don’t overload your presentation with them ● Only use as many slides as you need to make your point
- 5. Why Keep it Simple? Did you know that having slides actually have higher probability of diminishing your authority in a presentation? If your slides are more elaborate, your audience if forced to split their attention between the slides and your voice. By having simple slides, you offer an aid to your topic, but keep the audience on you as the authority.
