The self-storage industry in the U.S. has grown significantly, generating $27.2 billion in annual revenues and employing over $3.25 billion in local and state property taxes. With a capacity of about 21 square feet per American household, around 30% of renters utilize storage for over two years, despite many having their own garage, attic, or basement. Additionally, a majority of self-storage renters earn less than $75,000 annually, and 83.9% of U.S. counties have at least one primary facility.
