The study evaluates the effective radiation dose from a variety of radiotracers and the CT component in SPECT/CT scans at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, analyzing data from 151 patients. Results show that while the radiation doses from CT scans are low, the total doses vary significantly among different procedures, highlighting the need to balance diagnostic benefits and radiation exposure. The effective dose calculated reflects a minimal risk level for patients, emphasizing the use of advanced imaging technology for improved diagnosis and treatment.
