Slide transition powerpoint

Documenting the making of the
transition slide.

Step 1
•  To start the making of my transition slide that I
am going to be using during my project, I had to
open After Effects as that is the application that
I’ll be using to create it. This is because with After
Effects, you can make animations and such things
easier due to its user friendly layout and
instructions are found easily online to help me if I
ever get stuck.
•  To start the process of making my transition
slide, I started by making a new composition.

Step 2
•  For the second step of this, I inserted the
image that I want to use for the background of
the transition slide and adjusted it to size so it
fit the whole frame.

Step 3
•  For the use of transition slide, I want the
background image to be blurred as to not take
focus away from the text that will eventually
be put on top of the image. I did not know
how to do this so I used Google as a way to
help and learn how to do this incase I needed
it in the future.

Step 4
•  To help the make the image have the blur
effect, I had to create a new adjustment layer.
•  With the adjustment layer selected, I then
went to the top of After Effects in the tool
selection, I chose a rectangle tool, which fully
covered the image.

Step 5
•  To actually add the blur effect, I have to go to
the adjustment layer and right click, go to
“effect” then “blur and sharpen” then click on
“lens blur”. This then helped give the image
the blur effect.

Step 6
•  With the hard part done of adding a blue
effect to my image, I needed to add text to it
now and experiment with the colours that I
have chosen, what works well with the
darkened background.
•  I first did this by going to “layer”, “new”,
“text”.

Step 7
•  Choosing a font is next and also deciding
whether or not the text needs to be outlined.
For the font, I decided to go with a larger, bolder font to
make the text more visible to the audience and to not
strain their vision.
I added a border around the text to make it easier to
see and read for the audience.

Step 8
•  I used key framing to make the text move
from the right side of the screen towards the
middle, which is what the original plan was.

Step 9
•  A camera effect was added to help make
things look better and add a 3D effect to make
the slight zoom in look better and be able to
have more options and help give me more
potential to edit the simple slide.

Step 10
•  The slide is now done and looks great, this is
what I wanted it to look like and I am happy
with the end result, this will be played
multiple times throughout my video and have
2 colours to go with it which will be shown
here:
