End Hunger
By: My Le
Why does it resonate
for me?
I believed that working on achieving
food insecurity can prevent serious
health problems, and weakened
immune systems, making people more
vulnerable to diseases and illness.
People who are hungry or
malnourished may not have the energy
to work, and children who are
malnourished may not be able to
concentrate in school, which could limit
their future education potential.
How can my interest be applied
locally?
• My interest can by applied locally by
volunteering at local food bank or food pantry.
Food banks and pantries rely on volunteers to
sort and distribute food to those in need.
• Another way my interested can be applied
locally is to donate to non-profit local
organization, such as money, food, or other
resources to the organizations to help support
their work.
Where can you make the
greatest contribution?
• Like mentioned before, I think I can make the
greatest contribution to stop hunger is
supporting local food banks. Because local food
banks and pantries are often the front line in the
fight against hunger, providing food to those in
needs.
• Another contribution that I can make is to
advocate in policy changes. This can include in
participating in voting, or researching for
candidates who are running that have similar
values and goals that matches me.
Is there a feature of social media that can be
uniquely applied to this goal?
• Social media can help people to spread the word about hunger and ask for
money to help. People can use websites like Facebook, Twitter, and
Instagram to make pages about hunger and ask for donations from people
all over the world. They can also share their own experiences and stories to
help other people understand what hunger is like.
