The Cloud delivers a hosting environment that is immediate, flexible, scalable, secure, and available – while saving corporations money, time and resources. What IT always needs: a way to increase capacity or add capabilities on the fly without investing in new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing new software. Cloud computing encompasses any subscription based or pay-per use service that, in real time over the Internet, extends IT's existing capabilities. Acceptable Surplus Unacceptable Surplus & Deficit Utility Infrastructure Model >The Red portions in the above figure shows the unused infrastructure of the company i.e the Unused data / storage etc. on which the company has already invested but get no returns as it goes unused. >At certain times the company ‘s infrastructure goes unused(green portions)and at other times they are exhausted and in need of more(red portion). >For such fluctuating demands cloud computing plays an important role where you will be provided infrastructure as per usage and charged also as per your usage. >By using cloud facilities, the companies can use the Infrastructre(developm ent Platforms) and soft wares, storage space and other tools based on the companies’ requirement. Deployment Models Public cloud • Public cloud (off-site and remote) describes cloud computing where resources are dynamically provisioned on an on-demand, self-service basis over the Internet, via web applications/web services, open API, from a third-party provider who bills on a utility computing basis. Private cloud • A private cloud environment is often the first step for a corporation prior to adopting a public cloud initiative. Corporations have discovered the benefits of consolidating shared services on virtualized hardware deployed from a primary datacenter to serve local and remote users. Hybrid cloud • A hybrid cloud environment consists of some portion of computing resources on-site (on premise) and off-site (public cloud). By integrating public cloud services, users can leverage cloud solutions for specific functions that are too costly to maintain on-premise such as virtual server disaster recovery, backups and test/development environments. Community cloud • A community cloud is formed when several organizations with similar requirements share common infrastructure. Costs are spread over fewer users than a public cloud but more than a single tenant.

Interest Areas I would like to work on an internship in the area of cloud computing as it’s the present and the future for any sort of infrastructure requirements and software licensing etc. It will soon be an “All cloud usage” for all requirements FUTURE of CLOUD In the next 5 years, it will be a “goodbye to traditional infrastructures” There may not be a need of Hard drives in the systems at all. Industry studies also reveal that by 2017 the more than 55% of the companies will have hybrid cloud
