SMEs currently have a small share of the green business sector in Russia, with less than 1% in garbage processing and 10% in housing and community amenities. The document proposes increasing SME competitiveness and adopting a green growth system in Russia through renewable energy sources like wind and solar, modernizing power grids, water purification, wood processing, and wireless monitoring of energy usage. It provides two regional examples of green projects already underway and recommends the government adopt new construction and environmental standards, form orders for green technologies, and create financial incentives to promote wider adoption of green technologies by SMEs.
