Solar system new 4
The sun, eight planets, satellites and
some other celestial bodies known
as asteroids and meteoroids from the
solar system. We often call it a solar
family, with the sun as head…
The Sun
The sun is in the center of the solar system.
It is made up of extremely hot gases. The
sun is the ultimate source of heat and light
for the solar system. The sun is about 150
million Km from the earth.

Orbits the sun faster than the
other planets.
Mercury is an airless and
waterless planet.
*The planet nearest to the earth is venus .
*The planet closet in the size to the earth.

of love
*Venus is a hot ,waterless planet.
The planet nearest to the
earth. The only planet that
rotates in clockwise direction.
Venus is named after the Roman
goddess of love and beauty. It is a
hot waterless planet. Venus has
an orbit of about 10,82,00,000
km from the sun.
EARTH
MARS
The red planet.
The planet that has 24-hour day, like the
earth.
Mars is a rusty planet.
Mars has many gigantic volcanoes.
There is no water on mars.

THE MOON
Our earth has only one natural
satellite, that is moon. Its diameter
is only one quarter that of the earth.
It appears so big because it is near
to our planet that other celestial
body. It is about 3,84,400 Km away
from us. The moon moves around
the earth in about 27 days. It has
no atmosphere.
Apart from the stars, planets and satellites,
there are numerous tiny bodies which also
move around the sun. These bodies are called
asteroids. They are found between the orbits
of Mars and Jupiter. Scientists are of the view
that asteroids are parts of a planet which
exploded many years back.
Small pieces of rocks which move around
the sun are called meteoroids. Sometimes
these meteoroids come near to the earth
and tend to drop upon it. During this process
due to friction with the air they get heated up
and burn. It causes a flash of light which is
what we see as Shooting Stars.
