This document provides a justification for a soundscape created about the home front of World War 2 in Liverpool, England. The soundscape uses various sounds collected from the Albert Docks and museums depicting a wartime air raid. It features the sounds of ships, trains used during the war, and the effects of bombing through compressed bomb dropping sounds and a 'wa-wa' effect mimicking planes overhead. The main sound is children playing, which is manipulated to sound emotionally impacted by the war. Reverb and reversing are used to manipulate sounds and create atmosphere. The layered sounds tell a story from happy children to a gloomy ending, portraying the emotional effects of war on the home front through sound.
