FADE IN: Protagonist Zara is in the middle of a check up with her local doctor at a small walk-in clinic, they discuss her amnesia schizophrenia and oand poor vision as well as her situation at home. Before we focus on the conversation, theres a sequence of creative shots to visually show her paranoia caused by her schizophrenia. these include close ups of her eyes, her mouth and the sound of heavy breathing, her heartbeat and maybe a leaky tap, her scratching her hand, tapping her foot etc. INT.Clinic 4:30pm OTSS- BLURED LENSE Quick cut- close up on Zara face snapping out of it. DOCTOR zara… zara… zara! are you okay? ZARA huh. oh yeah DOCTOR zara, its okay, your in a safe place here with me. i promise. As the doctor says this, we can here zaras heart rate and breathing slowly starting to come down. ZARA (takes a deep breath) yes yes i know DOCTOR (nodds head, sincere smile, graces leg) good, take deep breaths okay. Zara nods her head ZARA No…not really, I'm still finding it hard to remember small details,like names, faces ermm… stuff like that
- 3. .2 DOCTOR (shaking head and writing it down) okay, and how about your vision, i see you are not wearing your glasses. Why is that? ZARA (holds head trying to remember) oh erm… my boyfriend took them off of me, i kept losing them (laughs awkwardly) DOCTOR (pull out a file with an image of her boyfriend) speaking of your boyfriend, he's your carer at this moment and we seem to have the wrong number for him, do you mind giving us an updated number? ZARA yes of course… Zara looks through her back quickly to find a diary which stores all the important things she finds difficult to remember. DOCTOR (less formal) i see you have a new boyfriend from the last one? he's rather handsome Zara stops looking through her diary after she heres this, she looks down at the sheet but can only see a blur image. ZARA (confused) I haven't changed boyfriend…? DOCTOR (confused also) Are you sure, this is a different gentlemen from your previous carer Jonathan.
- 4. .3 ZARA (CERTAIN) I cant really see the image but i know for certain i haven't had a new boyfriend, I've been with Jonathan for years. DOCTOR Okay well there must have been a mix up with the images when making these files, ill have it changed. And to help sort the problem with you losing your glasses, I have some contacts here for you. Now you wont have to worry about losing them okay. ZARA oh thanks so much… this will help a lot. could you help me put them in DOCTOR of course. EXT.clinic 5:30pm We cut to a shot of Zara leaving the clinic and on her way home,there also a few close up shots of her squinting because of the contacts she now has. INT. Zara’s house 6:00pm Eventually she returns home. she declares she is home and a conversation starts between her and her boyfriend Jonathan who is in another room. ZARA Im home Jonathan! JONATHAN oh hey baby, your home quick was it just a short visit? ZARA ye just the usual, the strangest thing happened today though, the doctor thought i had a new boyfriend (laughing). it was just a mix up with the pictures.
- 5. .4 JONATHAN (change of tone) oh how strange, how could they mix up the pictures (awkward laughter) Zara begins to walk toward the room Jonathan is in whilst continuing the conversation. ZARA And about my glasses, the doctor really helped me out. she gave me some contac… as Zara enters the room she sees the face of the man who is allegedly Jonathan and realises its a total imposter, shocked she finished what she is saying and stares at the man with a frightened look on his face. IMPOSTER are you okay baby, you look worried…? ZARA (quickly snaps out of it) oh no i just remembered I've got to write something down before i forget it Zara quickly walks upstairs and moves into the bedroom where she quickly closes the door and looks for an old image with her and the real Jonathan, shocked even more she sit behind the door and call doctor Diane. INT: Single bedroom ZARA (frantic whisper) Doctor, you were right. this isn't Jonathan, i don't know who it is, you have to help me! DOCTOR Zara, hello, Zara i cant hear what you are saying, are you alright? ZARA the person in the house with me isn't Jonathan…! The imposter should Zara’s name from the bottom of the stairs. Zara attempts to stay quiet. He calls again at which point she feels its best she replies. whilst this is happening you can hear chatter from the phone.
- 6. .5 ZARA yes Jonathan I'm fine, i will be down in a second. (whispering)Doctor you need to help IMPOSTER (knocks on the door and attempts to open it) Zara are you alright in there, why cant i open the door. Zara quickly stand up and open the door, she tries to hide the phone behind her. ZARA (smiling) Jonathan its alright I'm okay IMPOSTER who were you talking to just now? ZARA no one, i was just talking to my self(Awkward laughter) the imposter looks down to her hand behind her leg and wonders why she is only opening a little bit of the door. his facial expression turns from a smile to a straight face. IMPOSTER okay The imposter turns aways. Zara quickly closes the door and moves over to the bed to try and continue the conversation with the doctor suddenly the imposter bursts through the door. ZARA what are you doing, WHAT ARE YOU DOING, doctor helppp… the imposter forces the phone out of her hand and hangs up the phone, he the grabs her and holds her in a choke hold position. ZARA (fighting back) Get off of me, ill call the police! IMPOSTER They wont believe you, your a chronic amnesiac with mild
- 7. .6 schizophrenia, its all in you're head ZARA no please stop, stop, st… IMPOSTER Don’t worry, we will forget all of this happened in the morning… shhh shhhhh shhh The imposter hold her in the same position until Zara is unconscious. Zara continues to struggle until she becomes un conscious. The imposter then lays her down on the bed and it cuts to black. In the morning it cuts to the imposter opening the door and Zara is sitting in the end of the bed and appears to have forgot everything that has happened. He gives her a kiss IMPOSTER Good morning baby ZARA (holding head and looking confused) Good morning, what happened yesterday i don't remember. IMPOSTER (holding her hands) You had an panic attack and called the doctor about something but i sorted it out don't worry. ZARA (gives him a kiss) oh okay, thanks for dealing with me, ill be down for breakfast in a bit… i love you IMPOSTER I love you too. The boyfriend then walks out looking jolly and closes the door. It then pans another phone that Zara has with messages to the real Jonathan. the last message reads,”its me Zara, i need your help” she then put the phone down and heads down stairs, cut to black.
