definition According to Hunziker and Krapf, "tourism is the totality of relationship & phenomenon arising from the travel l and stay of strangers, provided the stay does not imply the establishment of a permanent residence and is connected with a remunerated activity.“ scope of tourism Worlds largest industry employing around 200 million of workers & it is expected to provide 350million jobs in the next 5 yrs. It is growing at almost twice the rate.
FACTORS DEVELOPING TOURISM NATURAL FACTORS NATIONAL SOCIO-ECONOMIC FACTORS NATIONAL POLITICAL FACTORS NATIONAL
IMPACT OF TOURISM INDUSTRY ON INDIAN ENVIRONMENT TOURISM IS AN INVISIBLE TRADE THAT STIMULATES MANY ECONOMIC  BENEFITS .  IT INFACT GENERATES MORE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES. IT LEADS TO A LOW LEVEL OF INVESTMENT DUE TO THE EXPENDITURE  OF THE TOURISTS .  THE LAND VALUE AT THE TOURIST SPOT IS TOO EXPENSIVE. DECLARING CERTAIN AREAS COMPLETELY TO TOURISM. ALLOWING LIMITED NUMBER OF TOURISTS AT A PARTICULAR TIME. IT HELPS TO GENERATE FOREIGN EXCHANGE EARNINGS.EG.IT GENERATED FOR INDIA FOREIGN EXCHANGE EARNINGS OF MORE THAN 11,000 CRORES IN 1997-98.
