St. Clare was born in 1193 in Assisi, Italy and died in 1253. She left her wealthy family in 1211 to join St. Francis and live a life of poverty, starting the order of the Little Sisters of the Poor. St. Clare is the patron saint of television because it is said that on one Christmas Eve, when she was sick, she saw and heard Mass clearly on her bedroom wall as if she was there in person.
