St. Clare
St. Clare She was born in 1193 in Assisi, Italy, and died in 1253. St. Clare’s feast day is August 11. She is the patron saint of television. Her name means ‘light.”
St. Clare St. Clare was born of a wealthy family in Assisi, Italy. In 1211, Clare left home to join St. Francis in a life of poverty. St. Clare started the Little Sisters of the Poor.
St. Clare Pope Pius XII made Clare the patron saint of television. She  became known as the patron saint of television because it was said that one Christmas Eve , when Clare was sick in bed, she saw Mass on the wall of her bedroom and heard the singing in church as if she were there.  The vision was so clear, she could name the friars at the Mass.
