Ken Phillips (NCP 64-66) will brief us on the AAI Transformation Project to Unleash AIESEC’s Global
Potential. Ken attended AAIM in Hungary in February 2012, where a new board was elected with
a mandate to unite the 46 national AIESEC alumni associations into a global organization with
common goals and initiatives. Ken is leading a team to tweak the mission statement and branding
                                        aspects of the project.

AIESEC alumni have long believed in the impact we can have in the world, but for more than 50
years, despite enthusiasm, very hard work, and the best of intentions, we have remained a
sleeping giant. We have a choice to make: keep our alumni effort as it is or transform it into the
highperforming giant we know it can be.

Why are we a sleeping giant?
                           Shifting context
                           - includes revolutionary entry of
                        global internet and social media
                           Lack of management “muscle power”
                           - continuous turnover, dispersion and
                        availability issues
                           Inadequate organizational structure
                           Funding challenges

                              Change has not been easy!

1. Define a shared vision for unleashing our
global alumni potential

2. Map out a time-phased plan that will make it
happen

3. Seek a consensus on our way forward by the
end of the conference
Our Approach
Our Overall Analytic Conclusions
We have al of the ingredients for success
-
-
-
We simply have not set ourselves up for success
-
-
-
-
We have been stuck with weak performance relative to our potenial
