About Us
• Start Up Management Consulting Private Limited (Start Up!) launches, strengthens, and
scales social enterprises that create lasting impact in underserved communities of
India.
• Our clients and investees include social entrepreneurs who work across the non-profit ,
hybrid and for-profit continuum .The majority of our engagements have been in the
livelihoods, education, enterprise/entrepreneurship development and health sectors.
• The only incubator in the country that operates as a for-profit; the only angel that
invests talent and sweat - Start Up! works on a creative revenue model , which includes
deferred professional fee and success fee and could take a small equity stake in its
investee/incubatee ventures.
• As knowledge partners of the Schwab Foundation and Jubilant Bhartia Foundation and
Ashoka’s Associate Venture Partner, Start Up assesses and learns from more than 200
social ventures every year. We cross-pollinate this learning to ventures we seed and
scale.
Since 2009- 5 angel investment, 6 incubations and 23 consulting engagements

eclectic growth path across legal entities.

• To catalyze the influence and resources of business, government and media
towards fostering many more social enterprises.

What We Do
We invest non-financial resources to launch and scale social enterprises. Our
investments of time and expertise are geared to put ventures quickly on their
feet and make them scale and capital ready
How we do it:
• Invest our time and services to co-entrepreneur
social ventures in the field, with our investees.
• Match the passion and domain expertise of our
investees with process, plans and the discipline
for executing ideas.
• Not only provide expertise, tools and networks,
but also problem solve and actively
operationalize the business model.
• Constant questioning of assumptions and
reality checks at every turn minimizes trial and
error. These ensure that ventures launch with a
higher probability of success.
• Operate on a flexible revenue model and
receive success fee after business starts to
generate revenues and/or raises investments
and debt.
• Bring in mentors, functional experts at
negotiated and affordable rates to the
entrepreneur.
