STATISTICAL SUMMERY
FOR MALE CONSUMERS
• MEAN: 1.76
• MEDIAN: 2
• MODE: 2
• MIDRANGE: 2
• VARIANCE: 1.15
• OUTLIER: N/A

                     7
STATISTICAL SUMMERY FOR FEMALE
          CONSUMERS

MEAN: 1.83

MEDIAN: 2

MODE: 1

MIDRANGE: 2

VARIANCE: 1.16

OUTLIER: N/A

                 8
Interpretations
• The variance for the distribution of women’s
water bottle use is greater then the variance
for the distribution of men’s water bottle use.
• Women average a greater amount of daily
    usage of water bottles.
• An outliers will askew the collected data, as
our data did not have an outlier, we can
assume the amounts are more reliable.

                         9
Interpretations Continued

• The recommended amount of water to be consumed
daily is eight glasses of water. With a daily mean of
water bottles consumed for both men and women less
then two bottles a day. Our data implies people are
consuming less then the recommended amount.

• The females water drinking habits has a pronounced
tail while the males water drinking habits is closer to
    the normal distribution

                             10
Recommendations
• Since the majority women reported she used at least one water
bottle per day there should be sufficient recycling bins in place on
    NSCC’s campus.

• As well as discounted and re-usable water bottles for NSCC’s
student body to purchase at the bookstore and cafeteria.

• NSCC should offer informational sessions for the student body to be
informed of the environmental effects plastic water bottles and
ways to be more resourceful and green while consuming water.

• As water fountains tend to be cold and less inviting making other
sources of water consumption more attractive.
