The paper presents a modified extended Kalman filter (IEKF) for accurately estimating the state of charge (SOC) of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles, addressing the limitations of traditional methods. By integrating a priori estimates and a compensating proportional gain, the IEKF achieves improved accuracy, reducing error bounds from 12.9% to 2.05% compared to conventional estimation techniques. The study emphasizes the importance of accurate SOC management for battery performance, especially in applications spanning electric vehicles, smart grids, and other electronic systems.
