So You Want To Write…STEP 1:  INVESTIGATIONReview the Gemini Editorial Calendar or past issues for editorial direction.  Get to know us a little bit.
We’ve got mail…STEP 2:  CONTACT USSubmit your story idea to the editor of the department you are interested in writing for (or if you are super fantastic…we’ll call you).
TO DIG IT OR NOT TO DIG IT…STEP 3:  WRITE…OR FLIGHTTwo things can happen at this point—we loved your idea (yay!) and we now look forward to reading your completed work, or we loved you (kisses) but the idea…um…not so much.  If we did not dig it, no worries!  Just try try again.
You write—we editSTEP 4:  TURN IT INSo, we have accepted your article, you have written it, and now comes the fun part—editing.  Submit your article (on time—miss our deadline and we send our goons after you) to the department editor.  We can take it from there.
The boring stuff…Department editors discuss layout with Art dept.STEPs 5-9:  THE RESTThe rest of the process may or may not be of interest, but we thought we’d share anyway (this relationship is 50/50…you give we give—it works).The art dept designs the story layoutThe End (Whew! That was hard work)The Publisher reviews the completed publication.The EIC reviews copy and layout.
