Overview One of Four US Dept of Education/RSA System Change Grants Awarded in the Nation Awarded to Missouri Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Submitted the Proposal with Columbia in Mind Subcontracted to Advent Enterprises, Inc. Five Year Project – Oct 2001 to Oct 2005

Population Served Anyone On Public Assistance or Seeking Services at the MO Career Center Persons Without Disabilities  Initial Help with Completing Forms and Applications Directing Them Where to Go Persons With Disabilities Initial Help with Completing Forms and Applications Follow-ups, Case Tracking, Ongoing Guidance
Promising New Strategies Single Point of Entry  Comprehensive Benefits Planning Employ Persons  From  the System to Help Others  With  the System Share Information with Partners via the Internet Establish a SUCCESS Plan Provide a “Warm Line” and Drop-In Center
Goals Strengthen Linkages Close the Gaps Measure and Inform
Goal 1: Strengthen Linkages Between Consortium Members and Inter-Agency Partners  Identify and Eliminate Program-Related Barriers to Employment Services
Goal 2: Close the Gaps Address Service Gaps and/or Weaknesses  Modify System Processes Streamline Procedures Reduce Wait to DVR Statuses by 10%
Goal 3: Measure and Inform Develop a Program Evaluation System Measure Project Efficiency and Effectiveness Attain 75% Job Retention at 90 Days Attain 85% Job Retention at 9 Months Attain 80% Job Retention at 18 Months Disseminate Knowledge of Best Practices and Outcomes
