Theme
Social Benefit Schemes, offer critical support to PLHIV and HRGs.
DAPCUs are expected to facilitate the access to schemes by
coordinating with the line departments and NACP facilities. Each
district has its own strategy for social benefit schemes and this month
we will share these strategies and outputs.
• What (name) social benefit schemes are PLHIV and HRG accessing
in your district?
• How did the DAPCU and District Administration support them in
getting the schemes?
• What was the role of facilities such as , DIC , DLN, LAC , ART , ICTC
etc?
• What are the achievements - Scheme wise number of beneficiaries
or other data as applicable?
• What are the challenges?

Common elements emerging from
DAPCU responses
• All DAPCU those are response are actively
involved with social benefit scheme to PLHIV
activity.
• All DAPCU are interested to give support from
only Govt.
• Most of the DAPCU face the problem of non
cooperativeness of other line department.
• PLHIV migration problem is common from all.

A few good practices shared
• Circular issued in the district requesting all
officials to maintain confidentiality while
providing schemes
• Advocacy with block level officers.
• Sensitization of concerned departments
• Priority given to PLHIV for certain schemes
• Schemes details shared with ICTC, ART, DIC and
other facilities.
• Issues raised in the DAPCC meeting.

A few good practices shared
• Include social benefit scheme in post test
counseling in ICTC and in ART center
• TA to PLHIV through DAPCU for reaching to
ART center.
• DAPCU in some places is incharge of providing
applications and verification of application for
PLHIV
• Private companies and individual donations
used for scholarships, educational support etc.
