- 2. Briefing Aim • To prepare all students both distance and residential for proper use of the SU Single Sign On system • To ensure that all students understand the importance of the University’s electronic learning and communications platform in their study success.
- 3. Briefing Scope • To inform and assist new students in accessing the following systems: – MySun.ac.za – SUNLEARN – webmail@sun.ac.za – Password Management
- 4. Using MySun.ac.za • You can use My Sun.ac.za to do the following things – Change your password – Access your webmail – View your study records – View financial Info – Login to SUNLEARN
- 5. Use www.sun.ac.za or to access MySun learn.sun.ac.za directly
- 6. Your @sun.ac.za email address • Your university email address consists of your student number followed by @sun.ac.za ie: studentnumber@sun.ac.za www.sun.ac.za/webmail/
- 7. Your @sun.ac.za email address • Why is this address important? – You will only receive communication from your lecturers via this email address in future – All your SUNLEARN emails automatically go to this email address – The password is the SAME as your SUNLEARN, MYSUN and LIBRARY password – You can access this mailbox from anywhere in the world
- 12. Password Management • This is a MAJOR issue with students • Passwords expire every three months • You will receive emails from SU prompting you to update your password • If you ignore these emails your account is locked

- 16. Google Chrome • What is Google Chrome? – It is a web browser – Please do not use Microsoft Internet Explorer with SUNLEARN – We advise you to download and install Google Chrome
- 17. Google Chrome • Download for free at: www.google.co.za/chrome/ • Google Chrome works better with SUNLEARN • You MUST enable pop-ups in your browser in order for SUNLEARN to work properly
