Survey evaluation
- 1. My survey tells me my target audience should be for teenagers between 16 and 20, the artists and features in the magazine should relate to the target audience to attract this age group. As my magazine doesn’t represent a certain type of genre it should include a variety of genres to attract as many people as possible. My survey shows the target audience would like to see genres such as: Rap & Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, Indie, Rock, DubStep and R&B, therefore i will feature all of these genres in my magazine to relate to a wider audience. My survey shows the target audience would most like the colour scheme for the front cover to be red, white and black, but i have decided to use black and gold, because the gold represents money and fame which relates to the name of my magazine ‘Mainstream’. My survey shows the audience would be willing to pay between £1.05 and £2.00 for my music magazine, i will therefore price my magazine at £2.00. My survey doesn’t show clearly a certain artist that the audience would like therefore i have chosen artists i think the target audience would like the most and that relate to the genres the audience want to see in the magazine. My survey shows the audience buy mostly NME and VIBE, therefore i am going to take features from both magazines and include them in my magazine as these magazine are similiar to my magazine. My survey shows the target audience would like certain pages in the magazine such as: a contents page, interviews with artists, chart updates and tour dates therefore i will feature these pages in my magazine so the audience can read what they want to read about. My survey shows the audience would be interested in hearing about local artists in the genres chosen by them e.g. Drum and bass, indie, rock, R&B, Rap and Hip Hop, therefore i may feature local artists in my magazine. My survey shows the audience would like two images on the front cover, therefore i am going to put two images on the front cover. My survey shows the audience is attracted to a magazine by the colours on the front cover, the artists featured on the front cover and free stuff in the magazine. Taking this information in to account i am therefore going to make my magazine stand out against other magazines so that the audience want to read my magazine instead of others.
