What is MapInfo Workspace We can make workspace to incorporate all data related to sites in MapInfo tab form and use to: • Do nbr and frequency planning easily • Sites location hunting • Checking KPIs of cells easily • Checking site configuration • etc 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr. Procedure for making Workspace We must have the following files and tools: 1)- All south BSCs stats of busy hour from PRS for one latest week . 2)- South Sites 2G,3G trackers which shared by Mr. Mobin bhai 3)- PTML cell site South shared by Mr.Faraz bhai 4)- MapInfo software (Installed) 5)- Microsoft office Software (Installed ) 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr. - 4. Procedure Cont.. Steps: • From the above data sheets we will make three sheets of excel and save in “MS excel 2003 workbook” format. • Three files names are: 1)- GTC Work Sheet 2)- Planned Sites Work Sheet 3)- Down Sites Work sheet 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr. Inayat Ul Haq 4
- 5. 1)-Making of GTC (Fans) work sheet • GTC Work Sheet will prepare by incorporating data from different DB Sheets as m/b : a)- Paste the heading on top row of blanked xl sheet. 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr. Inayat Ul Haq 5

- 7. For the above first snap of heading we will incorporate data from the sheets below or any data base which contain this data: b)- For the 2nd and 3rd snap of heading we will incorporate data from BSCs stats: 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr. Inayat Ul Haq 7
- 8. Procedure : select all south BSCs, mark check on all KPIS, location, select day wise busy hours and one week (dates), extract export then download it. Now do some changes to that sheet I name it “stats sheet” i. Delete top and bottom row, separate time from date of first column ii. Now make columns of Required KPIs as shown in 2nd and 3rd heading snap Procedure: Select all workspace of stats and apply formula (Alt+DPRF) 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr. Inayat Ul Haq 8
- 9. 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr. Inayat Ul Haq 9 • Only draw CI and required KPIS (Avg values) as shown in below snaps. (Reason for doing this is to make column of required KPIS in average ).

- 11. • Now copy all these column of KPIS (from stats sheet) and paste (as paste special-values) in new sheet ( I name it KPIS sheet). • Then apply Vlookup to each column of GTC fans to paste values from (KPIS sheet). Note: Remove formulas after completing Vlookup or convert to numbers by paste (as paste special-values) . Hence all type of data has incorporated from different Data Bases and our “GTC fans work sheet” did completed. But we have to delete two types of sites from this “GTC fans work sheet” i. Planned sites …(Check from 2G South sites of Mobin bhai or any sheet). ii. Down sites ……(check from “daily network outages report shared by NOC” 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr. Inayat Ul Haq 11
- 12. 2)- To Make Planned Sites Sheet Procedure: Copy these columns “Site ID, Log/Lat” from sheet of sites which contain Sites status--- (planned sites) and paste it in new xl sheet and save it in 2003 workbook format. 3)- To make Down sites sheet Open this sheet Then open this encircled workspace 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr. - 13. • Do filter column of “region” and select south region (S1,S2,S3). • Now copy these columns to new sheet name “Down Sites Sheet” i. Site id , ii. Major category (down reason), iii region . • Now apply vlookup to new column again site ID and paste “Lat/Long” from any sheet or data base which contains coordinates. Hence The “Down sites sheet” is ready so save it in 2003 workbook format to same folder of other two sheets. → So, All the three xls sheets (GTC Fans, planned sites, Down sites) are ready. - 30. • All three sheets and their tab files are ready , now we will go ahead to make Workspace. • Procedure: open MapInfo software→file→ open→ folder of all tab files and select all three files then click open (all files will open in MapInfo workspace in their respective shapes i.e points and fans)→save 12-Jul-17 Prepared by Engr.
