wider context of the media product.
Brief, purpose, use, media product and target
audience
The genre for my front cover is going to be Fashion
I will be using many images that have been taking from inside a
building and also from outside.my front page needs to have a good
quality picture to attract more people and the cannon camera takes
good quality pictures.my front page will teach people about the new
fashion trends my target audience are going to be young adults that
are interested in all the new fashion trends.
Consider current practice and existing media products.
Vogue which is aimed for young adults who are into fashion usually
use a mid shot of a well known celebrity which will have a target
audience of young adults.
Review ideas, contingency plans.
• I already have a model that I am going to use but if on that day
something happens and my model that I have chosen does not turn
up I have also asked another person to model for me if for example
my first choice of model is ill and cant make it. When taking the
pictures I am going to chose the best 4 pictures instead of choosing
just one picture just in case the picture doesn’t fit into the
background of my page. I will be taking 2 pictures from inside and
two pictures from outside.
Produce a trial layout, where or how the
photos will work within the wider context
of the media product.
• The photos will be placed in the middle of the magazine on a a4page
to the right of the magazine so I am able to but a text on the side of
the page also the title will be at the top in the middle of the page
with a few words behind the model this is so none of the model is
covered up so the audience can see everything that they need to see.
•
• You are to produce a photographer’s call and planning sheet to show the planning of your photography shoots. The
following is to be addressed in your call and planning sheets.
• considerations
• subject
• availability of resources, e.g. space, time, personnel
• bookings (studio time/space, models, equipment)
• test shots
• image resolution, e.g. RAW files, compressed files
• pixel size (in relation to final image size)
• ASA/ISO (American Standards Association/International Standards Organisation),
• e.g. film speed, speed versus pixilation, available light
• location (exterior) assessment (weather, light, positioning, permissions, risk assessment)
• Interior (or studio) assessment (light source, power supply. risk assessment (e.g. trailing cables, hot lamps), sets).
Interior (or studio) assessment (light
source, power supply. risk
assessment (e.g. trailing cables, hot
lamps), sets).• Risk assessment Risk What to do to prevent it What to do if it does
happen
Someone could trip over
the cables of the lights
Make sure that all the
cables are put in a safe
place where no one can
treed
Inform a teacher and
make sure the person is
alright
Someone could touch
the hot lamps
Make sure that everyone
known that the hot
lamps can hurt you
before entering the
studio room
Ice and inform a teacher
and turn of all the hot

location (exterior) assessment
(weather, light, positioning,
permissions, risk assessment)
• I am hoping that on the day it is sunny and there is no rain which will
mean there will be good natural lighting for when taking my outside
images.
• Permission
• I will be taking pictures when it is light outside so that I can get all the
natural lighting and inside it doesn’t matter if it is dark or light
because we will be using the lights
• I will be taking pictures when it is not raining outside and when it is
sunny if this does not work out them I am going to have to take
pictures on a windy day and hope the pictures come out how I want
them too.
• Permissions;
• I will make permission slips for the people who are involved in taking
pictures and the model.
ASA/ISO (American Standards
Association/International Standards
Organisation), stand for?
• The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is the self-regulatory organisation (SRO) of the advertising industry in the United
Kingdom. The ASA is a non-statutory organisation and so cannot interpret or enforce legislation.

A camera raw image file contains minimally processed data from the image sensor of either a digital camera, image scanner, or motion
picture film scanner. Raw files are named so because they are not yet processed and therefore are not ready to be printed or
edited with a bitmap graphics editor.

Image resolution is the detail an image holds. The term applies to raster digital images, film images, and other types of images.
Higher resolution means more image detail. Image resolution can be measured in various ways. Resolution refers to the number of
pixels in an image. Resolution is sometimes identified by the width and height of the image as well as the total number of pixels in
the image. For example, an image that is 2048 pixels wide and 1536 pixels high.

• With RAW you can also correct problems with images that you could not recover if you was to shoot it in the JPEG format.
• You can get the Highest Level of quality by using RAW.
• You can also record greater levels of brightness.
• By using RAW you can enjoy non-destructive editing.
Test shot
I decided to take pictures on
this background because is
suited what my model was
wearing and it helped her
blend in also because this is
for young adults dark colours
are more appealing to them
because bright colours are
usually for children I didn’t use
this image because my
models posture wasn’t that
good and it looked like she
was slouching down.
Test shot
I didn’t use this image
because the lighting was to
much because of the flash on
my camera also you couldn’t
really see my models face
and on my front page I
wanted everyone to see my
models face.
Test shot
In this picture I had to use
different models because of the
day my model was not in and
the rest of the days it said that
it was going to rain the reason
why I didn’t use this image was
because all my models was
squinting their eyes because of
the sun so it ruined the way my
models looked.
Test shot
I decided to use this
background of a field and a
block behind my model
because it suits what my
model is wearing and all of it
combined actually looked quite
appealing the reason why i
didn't use this image was
because there was something
in front on the camera which
ruined the picture also there
was people behind in the
football pitch which I didn’t
think of when planning. Also
my models eyes where half
shut and she wasn’t ready for
the picture.
availability of resources, e.g. space,
time, personnel
Things I need;
Things I will be needing would be my phone to take the pictures,
studio lights and the studio for an hour also, I will need the studio
lights to get good quality pictures with good lighting for my inside
images.
I am going to need my phone which takes good quality pictures of my
model also, I will need the studio lights to have good lighting for the
model when taking the picture and I will need the studio for only an
hour because I will only be taking a few pictures for my front page.
For final photographs
• framing (choices that allow for placement/context in media product)
• shutter speed (choices that allow desired effect, e.g. slow speed, high speed)
• aperture (choices that allow for desired effect, e.g. correct exposure, under
• exposed, over exposed, depth of field, bracketing)
• file size (appropriate for publication or media product, e.g. billboard, website). Explain 72 file size to upload 300dpi is for
print
•
• Composition and mise en scène:
• to fulfil the brief
• appropriate for the media product, e.g. rule of thirds, differential focus, framing,
• cropping, angles, costume.
•
• Storing print screen of your folder with your images in them
• correct file format
• file names
• copyright. Research who and what copyright is in the world of photography

• Adobe bridge
• Why you have chosen them
• I have chosen these images because they have the best lighting and
also nothing is blurred and nothing is in front of the image stopping
you from seeing my model also my models posture in just right for
my target audience for the front page. You can see all my models
features in this particular image and my model stands out.
• I have rejected images because they was out focused, also the sun
made some of my models close their eyes so it didn’t look right

shutter speed
• In photography and digital photography the shutter speed is the
unit of measurement which determines how long shutter remains
open as the picture is taken. The slower the shutter speed, the
longer the exposure time. The shutter speed and aperture together
control the total amount of light reaching the sensor.
• https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=focus+meaning+in+photography&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-GB:IE-Address&ie;=&oe;=&gfe_rd=cr&ei=mMc_WeSk
aperture
focus
framing
• A large aperture lets in more light to the camera shutter for an exposure, while small aperture has a smaller opening in the lens diaphragm to let in a smaller
amount of light for a given exposure.
• In my final shot I used a large aperture as you can see in my picture
there is a lot of light coming through and lets everyone see all of my
models features.
• Focus is a basic tenet of photography. It's typically given a definition in photo books, but not fully explained. The standard definitions of focus are: 1) The position
at which rays of light from a lens converge to forhttps://www.google.co.uk/search?
q=focus+meaning+in+photography&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-GB:IE-
Address&ie;=&oe;=&gfe_rd=cr&ei=mMc_WeSkOIyE3gPR3anYAg&gws_rd=sslm a clear and sharply defined image on a focal plane.
• In my final shot the picture is very much focused of the model and the
background but seeming as the background is all dark colours more of
the attention is on the model anyway so if I used brighter colours for my
background and my background and model was both in focus then no
one would be focusing as much on my model then the background.
• In visual arts and particularly cinematography, framing is the presentation of visual elements in an image, especially the placement of the subject in relation to
other objects. Framing can make an image more aesthetically pleasing and keep the viewer's focus on the framed object(s).

use of mise en scène
• I used a location which would appeal to my target audience which
was a field where many teenagers spend their time and in a
restaurant where many teenagers go.
• I used dark colours to fit the target audience I have which was young
adults who like dark colours
• Costume
• I have used stylish clothing to appeal to my target audience and I
have also used stylish clothing which is also formal which would
appeal to young adults this is a good way of making the front page
appeal to young adults.
• My model is a young female adult I decided to use a young female
adult so it could appeal to my target audience which is mainly young
adults also it appeals to men because of my model being a female.
composition
• In the visual arts, composition is the placement or arrangement of
visual elements or ingredients in a work of art, as distinct from the
subject. ... The term composition means 'putting together' and can
apply to any work of art, from music to writing to photography, that
is arranged using conscious thought.

I have placed my model in the middle of the background this is so in
the front cover everything goes in together and the tittle is clear at
the top.
lighting, e.g. flash, natural light
• . For my interior photographs I used the studio lights because inside
there are no natural lights this made my model stand out but it was very
subtle lights so that it could look as natural as possible
• I used no flash for when taking my exterior pictures because there was
already enough natural lighting coming through on to my model so if I
was to use my flash it would be to much and the pictures wouldn’t look
right and you wouldn’t be able to see all my models face. I used natural
lighting instead for my exterior photographs.
camera support, e.g. tripod.
• In photography, a tripod is used to stabilize and elevate a camera, a
flash unit, or other photographic equipment. All photographic tripods
have three legs and a mounting head to couple with a camera.
• https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=focus+meaning+in+photography&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-GB:IE-Address&ie;=&oe;=&gfe_rd=cr&ei=mMc_WeSk
• in my photographs I have not used any type of camera support and it
was all done hand held. This was because it was easier personally for me
and usually in photo shots for big magazines they usually do it hand held
with out any camera support.
Creative intent, e.g. intended
response, intended meaning. Of my
shot intended o do a fashion shoot to
target my audience
Production of meaning, e.g. outcome,
actual response.
Integration into final digital media
product (in the context of put the
photo onto that front page
Task 2
Evaluation camera
• For my interior photographs I took many pictures all different types I took some close ups and some mid shots this was so when I was analysing my pictures and trying to pick one
picture I had a wider selection and I could choose which one would go best with my target audience and vogue, vogue usually uses mid shots taken by hand with not camera support
so I tried to do the same for my photographs also the reason why I chose vogue was because they have the same target audience that I had in mind for also all their pictures are so
glamour's and to do with fashion which my genre was about another reason why I took a mid-shot was so that my audience could see my models outfit seeing as my genre was for
fashion. For my interior photographs I used the studio lights because inside there are no natural lights this made my model stand out but it was very subtle lights so that it could look
as natural as possible. I took my images behind a white screen because that is what shots for magazines usually do so they can then change the background when finished. For my
interior photographs I didn’t matter to me what time and date I took my photographs because I was suing the studio lights so depending on the weather it didn’t matter but I did
chose to shoot at 11 o’clock in the morning so that I had time to take as many pictures as I needed just in case my model had to be somewhere. I wanted my interior photographs to
be very sophisticated but also edgy at the same time based on the fact that my target audience where young adults so my pictures being more sophisticated and edgy would of
appealed to my target audience I also chose out what my model wore because even clothing in a photo shot is a big thing because if they are not wearing clothes that appeal to your
target audience then it would appeal to your target audience so, I chose to keep the clothing that my model ore again sophisticated and also edgy. I also took images for my interior
photographs in different places inside rather than just in the studio room this was because I found a background inside which suited what my model was wearing and made my
model look even more edgy.
• My interior pictures and exterior pictures I had to change the clothing of my models because what my model wore inside didn’t really suit the scenery I chose for my outside
photographs because of this I had to wait till the next day to photograph my exterior photographs but then, my model didn’t turn up because she was un well so it was a good thing
for me to have a backup model which was in and which I did then use in my exterior photographs. I placed my model in the middle of the background this is so in the front cover
everything goes in together and the tittle is clear at the top. This was for both my interior and exterior photographs. I used a location which would appeal to my target audience
which was a field where many teenagers spend their time and in a restaurant where many teenagers go. I used dark colours to fit the target audience I have which was young adults
who like dark colours Costume I have used stylish clothing to appeal to my target audience and I have also used stylish clothing which is also formal which would appeal to young
adults this is a good way of making the front page appeal to young adults. My model is a young female adult I decided to use a young female adult so it could appeal to my target
audience which is mainly young adults also it appeals to men because of my model being a female.
• For my exterior photographs I only took a few photographs because I knew that my final image was going to be one from my interior photographs even though I had that mind I still
chose to take photos outside this seemed to be more difficult than when I was taking my interior photographs because we had to wait for a day where there was good natural
lighting and where the weather was sunny and hot also I has to take my pictures early in the morning when the sun was fully out it was difficult because the sun would come and go
because of the month that we was in. for my exterior photographs I took close ups because when I took mid shots I realised that my models uses would always be shut because of
the sun so I took close ups so that in my photographs you could see my models eyes and all her features' took my photographs at 9 o’clock in the morning. I wanted my exterior
photographs to look as natural as possible that my main aim for my exterior photographs. Also the reason why I didn’t want to really use any of my exterior photographs for my final
shot was because in vogue magazines you rarely see a front page with a natural outside background it is usually editing n of behind a colour background. Also I felt like my exterior
pictures would appeal to my target audience as much as my interior pictures would of. I used no flash for when taking my exterior pictures because there was already enough
natural lighting coming through on to my model so if I was to use my flash it would be too much and the pictures wouldn’t look right and you wouldn’t be able to see all my models
face. I did not use any camera support for my exterior photographs and did it all hand held which is most common in photoshoots of models whereas if my finals shot was to be
more a bike or something then I would have used camera support.
• In my final shot I used a large aperture as you can see in my picture there is a lot of light coming through and lets everyone see all of my models features. In my final shot the picture
is very much focused of the model and the background but seeming as the background is all dark colours more of the attention is on the model anyway so if I used brighter colours
for my background and my background and model was both in focus then no one would be focusing as much on my model then the background.
• Overall my interior pictures came out better and suited my target audience the most which is very important when taking photographs for big o small magazines for articles or
anything that has a target audience also the clothing of my model would of appealed more to my target audience when i asked a few people that where young adults they said that
my interior photographs appealed more to them then my exterior photographs.

Also my models eyes where half shut and she wasn’t ready for the picture.

  • 25. aperture focus framing • A large aperture lets in more light to the camera shutter for an exposure, while small aperture has a smaller opening in the lens diaphragm to let in a smaller amount of light for a given exposure. • In my final shot I used a large aperture as you can see in my picture there is a lot of light coming through and lets everyone see all of my models features. • Focus is a basic tenet of photography. • 32. Evaluation camera • For my interior photographs I took many pictures all different types I took some close ups and some mid shots this was so when I was analysing my pictures and trying to pick one picture I had a wider selection and I could choose which one would go best with my target audience and vogue, vogue usually uses mid shots taken by hand with not camera support so I tried to do the same for my photographs also the reason why I chose vogue was because they have the same target audience that I had in mind for also all their pictures are so glamour's and to do with fashion which my genre was about another reason why I took a mid-shot was so that my audience could see my models outfit seeing as my genre was for fashion. For my interior photographs I used the studio lights because inside there are no natural lights this made my model stand out but it was very subtle lights so that it could look as natural as possible. I took my images behind a white screen because that is what shots for magazines usually do so they can then change the background when finished. For my interior photographs I didn’t matter to me what time and date I took my photographs because I was suing the studio lights so depending on the weather it didn’t matter but I did chose to shoot at 11 o’clock in the morning so that I had time to take as many pictures as I needed just in case my model had to be somewhere. I wanted my interior photographs to be very sophisticated but also edgy at the same time based on the fact that my target audience where young adults so my pictures being more sophisticated and edgy would of appealed to my target audience I also chose out what my model wore because even clothing in a photo shot is a big thing because if they are not wearing clothes that appeal to your target audience then it would appeal to your target audience so, I chose to keep the clothing that my model ore again sophisticated and also edgy. I also took images for my interior photographs in different places inside rather than just in the studio room this was because I found a background inside which suited what my model was wearing and made my model look even more edgy. • My interior pictures and exterior pictures I had to change the clothing of my models because what my model wore inside didn’t really suit the scenery I chose for my outside photographs because of this I had to wait till the next day to photograph my exterior photographs but then, my model didn’t turn up because she was un well so it was a good thing for me to have a backup model which was in and which I did then use in my exterior photographs. I placed my model in the middle of the background this is so in the front cover everything goes in together and the tittle is clear at the top. This was for both my interior and exterior photographs. I used a location which would appeal to my target audience which was a field where many teenagers spend their time and in a restaurant where many teenagers go. I used dark colours to fit the target audience I have which was young adults who like dark colours Costume I have used stylish clothing to appeal to my target audience and I have also used stylish clothing which is also formal which would appeal to young adults this is a good way of making the front page appeal to young adults. My model is a young female adult I decided to use a young female adult so it could appeal to my target audience which is mainly young adults also it appeals to men because of my model being a female. • For my exterior photographs I only took a few photographs because I knew that my final image was going to be one from my interior photographs even though I had that mind I still chose to take photos outside this seemed to be more difficult than when I was taking my interior photographs because we had to wait for a day where there was good natural lighting and where the weather was sunny and hot also I has to take my pictures early in the morning when the sun was fully out it was difficult because the sun would come and go because of the month that we was in. for my exterior photographs I took close ups because when I took mid shots I realised that my models uses would always be shut because of the sun so I took close ups so that in my photographs you could see my models eyes and all her features' took my photographs at 9 o’clock in the morning. I wanted my exterior photographs to look as natural as possible that my main aim for my exterior photographs. Also the reason why I didn’t want to really use any of my exterior photographs for my final shot was because in vogue magazines you rarely see a front page with a natural outside background it is usually editing n of behind a colour background. Also I felt like my exterior pictures would appeal to my target audience as much as my interior pictures would of. I used no flash for when taking my exterior pictures because there was already enough natural lighting coming through on to my model so if I was to use my flash it would be too much and the pictures wouldn’t look right and you wouldn’t be able to see all my models face. I did not use any camera support for my exterior photographs and did it all hand held which is most common in photoshoots of models whereas if my finals shot was to be more a bike or something then I would have used camera support. • In my final shot I used a large aperture as you can see in my picture there is a lot of light coming through and lets everyone see all of my models features. In my final shot the picture is very much focused of the model and the background but seeming as the background is all dark colours more of the attention is on the model anyway so if I used brighter colours for my background and my background and model was both in focus then no one would be focusing as much on my model then the background. • Overall my interior pictures came out better and suited my target audience the most which is very important when taking photographs for big o small magazines for articles or anything that has a target audience also the clothing of my model would of appealed more to my target audience when i asked a few people that where young adults they said that my interior photographs appealed more to them then my exterior photographs.
