- 1. The Masthead is on the contents as well as the front cover this is to further advertise the magazine and branding. The Main Heading is over the main image on this contents page it says “raising hell” this is anchoring the front cover yet again with the theme of hell and its association with the band “slayer” The Layout is very simple and makes the page look like all the images fit perfectly and it is much more appealing than a busy contents page. It seems as though there are two columns going horizontal one is large and takes up about 2/3s of the page which contains the main image and the other column takes up the final 3rd and contains 3 other page numbers and their stories. The Main Image is again of someone from the band Slayer, he is the lead singer and bassist of the band, the magazine has managed to use pictures of 2 of the band members, one on the cover and one on the contents page, they both anchor each other and continue to show the audience that the main magazine storyline will be about their band. The image is a close up and is very dark compared to the rest of the page, this relates back to their band and the connotations of hell, he, much like Kerry King on the cover, is looking angrily directly at the camera to reinforce the genre of music. Other Writing/Titles on this page consist of different band names which will have pages about them ion the magazine, this is used just so that the audience know how to find the article about that band straight away. Another reference to the front cover is where it says “how metal shocked the world” which it also said on the front cover.
