Contents Page My Contents Page includes a lot of features that Top magazines also follow, for example the rule of thirds is used in all top magazines and is also used in mine, I think its really important to use the rule of thirds to keep the page flowing. Another thing that I have completed to make my magazine look better is making sure all of my images are clear and not distorted. By using advertisement it attracts my target audience to want to buy the magazine more.

- 9. Whilst completing my Preliminary Task I have learnt a lot which could help me in the future. One thing I have learnt is how to use Photoshop which is primarily used for images. I enjoyed using this software as I found it easy to complete my work on it and also enjoyed learning about all the different features which will be useful to me when it comes to creating my music magazine, one technique I have learned is how to make images look there best and be able to crop them and use the colour from an image onto something else Another software I have used is InDesign, I have used this to create my Contents Page and also enjoyed working with this as all the different features helped me to make my Contents Page look more professional. InDesign is mainly used for text which was useful when it came to writing out my contents as I had a lot of choice for font etc. In this process I have been uploading each thing onto my blog where I have learnt how to place images and other documents onto there. Another this I have used in this process is a digital camera, I have successfully taken several images which have been up to standard to use on my magazine.
- 10. 6th Form News shares a lot of similarities with Glamour Magazine. Both Magazines have a successful masthead which does its job by standing out and catching the readers attention. Another thing they share is a main images that works well in relation to the magazine and using the rule of thirds. However they also have some differences: in Glamour the colour scheme is a lot more simple which I think works better. Also the model used in each magazine is different as I have used a student whilst Glamour have used a high status celebrity.
- 11. Both magazine share similarities within their contents page. They both include extra images to illustrate what is on certain pages instead of just using text. Also they both include the masthead on the contents page. However they also have differences for example Glamour do not have a headline saying ‘Contents’ whereas my magazine does. Another thing that’s different is the layout, my magazine is divided into 3 sections and Glamour is divided into 2 sections.
- 12. My audience feed back was mostly positive. The audience said that my magazine was colourful and well placed out. Another thing they said is that my images were used well and were all clear. However they also said that some text was difficult to read and I had left too much white space in some areas.
