- 2. TITLE OF MAGAZINE YOU WISH TO PRODUCE: The title of my magazine is going to be Harmony; this is because it is catchy and relates back to my magazine genre. I believe it is a good title to use as it is short, snappy and memorable it represents the musical industry. Harmony was also a Dutch pop band of the 1970s.
- 3. EXPLANATION OF CHOICE OF GENRE The reason why I picked pop as my genre was because, I enjoy listening to this type of music myself. This meant that I was excited and to produce this genre of magazine. I feel as if I can relate to pop music. Pop music is up beat and fun and I believe this portrays my personality and a lot of other teenage girls personalities too. As I know what I would expect from a pop magazine, I would make sure that mine provides all the codes and conventions of a stereotypical pop magazine in order for my magazine to be a success.
- 4. TARGET AUDIENCE The target audience for my magazine is for people of the ages 12- 16. The reason for this is because of the contents in the magazine and the type of people in it. For example, bands such as one direction will appeal to girls of that age group, exciting them which will intrigue them in to reading the magazine.
- 5. INITIAL IDEAS ABOUT FRONT PAGE The ideas I have for my front over are: the main image to be a medium close up of ( Sophie) and to have my masthead placed at the top of the page, I also want the masthead to be the biggest text on the page, which follows this codes and conventions of a magazine. This will also make my magazine look sophisticated and professional. The font cover will also include, puffs and cover lines, for example I will promote one direction posters and tickets for their concerts. The front cover will also include bar codes to create realism and to give the magazine a real life sensation.
- 6. INITIAL IDEAS ABOUT THE CONTENTS PAGE The ideas I have for my contents page are that, I want it to be laid out in presentable way. I want images to be included in it to, so when the target audience are reading it they do not get bored. The contents page will include specific subheadings and will be organised by the page number where you will find it beside the subheading. It will include images, such as artists singing and performing live.
- 7. INITIAL IDEAS ABOUT DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD The ideas I have for my double page spread are that I want it to be of a band, the reason for this is because I want to talk about how they became famous and their background story. The target audience will find this interesting and appealing.
- 8. INITIAL IDEAS ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHS I want to use a medium close up of Sophie for my front cover magazine. I also want a picture of a band for my double page spread. I would also like a few images of young boys as this will appeal to the target audience.
