Contemporary teaching
methodology
 Project-Based Learning
This method is engaging for the students.
Through this method teacher puts the
students on a pass, that deepens their
knowledge and builds skills they will need in
future. This approach creates learning
environment in which students construct
their own knowledge.
The topics for mini- project
 Music
 Education in the UK
 Fashion
 Manners and Politeness
 Healthy eating and diet
 Cinema in the UK
 Business practices in the UK
 Cultural differences in the UK
Live Listening

 Speakers use English at natural speed
 They use gestures/ facial expressions
 They use natural aspects like hesitation
 They use colloquialisms
 The text is unscripted
 They listen only once
 Teacher cannot pause or re-play
Learner Autonomy
Autonomy is often described as the ability
to take charge of one’s learning.
Autonomy is a process not a product.
Autonomous learner takes active role in
the learning process, generating ideas.
Autonomy is best achieved when teacher
acts as a facilitator of learning, a
counsellor and as a resource.
Activities for
Fostering Autonomous
Learning.
 Free dictation - ‘Endangered Species’
 Grammar type activity – ‘Auction’
 Picture story
 Contradict me
 Find someone who has a lot in common
 ‘ X likes’
 ‘ Wuggle’

 They are culturally rich
 CALL suits a variety of learning styles
 CALL takes learning out of the
classroom, enhancing learner autonomy

2. SOUND OFF / VISION ON
3. SOUND / VISION ON
