PHOTOSHOP At the beginning of this course, I had very limited knowledge on this piece of software but now I have learnt new skills such as : Drop shadow- which allowed texts or shapes stand out even more as by adding this tool create depth and make the subject matter stands out. I have mostly used drop shadow for my texts as I wanted to make them stand out as much as possible. I have also learnt that you can adjust its angle, clarity and shadow colour so that it blends and goes well with the subject matter. Outer glow- I have learnt to use outer glow and inner glow, which acts the same as drop shadow, however this tool has more things you can adjust so that it really goes well on the subject matter you're applying outer or inner glow with. Gradient over lay- I have also learnt how to use gradient over lay as I have used this to create a background colour for my cover page. I learned how you can adjust certain tools so that the colour will look like its fading and how much fading you want it to be. I also learnt that you can choose any colour you want and , or texture you want for this tool.

PHOTOSHOP Magic tool – I have learnt how to use this tool when I was selecting the negative (unwanted) space for my main cover photo as my aim was to have the main subject matter (model) just on its own with no particular background. I also learned that y doing so many clicks can make the images to have smoother looking edges. Quick selection tool – I have learnt that by using this tool, I can highlight any thing and make adjustments to it. E.g. font and images sizes etc. Inserting images- This is one of the easiest tool I learnt. This simple step allowed me to add in any images I want for my covet by simply pressing ‘open’

QUARK Before this project I have never used Quark software before, However I have learnt various of things such as : Inserting images manipulating them to the right proportion. - inserting images in quark was a little difficult that inserting images in Photoshop. This is because I have learnt that before importing your images, you have to select a space that you want for the image. This meant that if there is any space in the image that is not in that pre selected space, then it automatically crops it out. Adding in shapes- adding shapes were an easy skill to learn. I simply just press the shape tool and choose the appropriate shape you want. I also learnt how to change its colour and to adjust its clarity.
- 5. QUARK Text tool- adding in text in this software is relatively easy. I have learnt that to add in text, you just simple have to press the text tool and choose its font size, style and colour.
